SLA curriculum pilot team reviews curriculum together

We are delighted to share a major update on our search for the best learning tools for our students! Our Elementary Literacy Curriculum Pilot has officially moved into its crucial second phase: classroom implementation!

This pilot is a critical step in our commitment to providing our students with a rigorous, engaging, and research-based literacy education. The insights we gather during this phase, from both our staff and families, will directly inform the final decision on our district's new curriculum.

December 4th marked the official start of the first pilot window, which will run through January 28th.

A sincere thank you goes out to our dedicated pilot teachers who completed an intensive training session this week. Their work is invaluable as they dive into the new materials from Benchmark and their instructional routines and practices. Their commitment ensures a robust and informative evaluation process for our students.

As we explore these potential new materials, your engagement and feedback are essential. We are committed to transparency and collaboration throughout the entire selection process.

We invite all families to join us for a series of curriculum overview sessions. These virtual sessions will provide you with the opportunity to:

  • Explore the materials being piloted.
  • Learn about the rigorous process for selecting the curriculum.
  • Provide your valuable feedback to the curriculum committee.
